FAQs
Starting any new club is a daunting experience. At WBA, we understand this and will do our best to ensure you feel happy, safe and secure whenever you attend one of our sessions. To help answer some of the questions you might have at this stage, please have a look at the FAQs below. If you have any further questions, please contact us at

Q: How do I know if my child is the right level for this club?
A: If your child is between the ages of 6 and 18 years, the chances are they are the right level for one of our programmes. The only exception might be that your child has already received badminton coaching and/or has been involved in the junior county programme.
Q: What qualifications do the coaches hold?
A: Every one of our coaches has achieved at least a level 1 badminton coaching award through Badminton England. The majority of our coaches however are level 2 qualified.
Q: What safeguarding arrangements are in place for the club?
A: All of our clubs are Badminton England affiliated clubs ensuring that we are covered by insurance. In addition to this, all coaches hold current DBS clearance checks and have received the mandatory safeguarding update training within the past three years. We adopt the Badminton England safeguarding policy and the Hampshire Badminton safeguarding protocol.
Q: What can we do if we cannot afford the coaching fees?
A: This is one of the most commonly asked questions and is something we are very sympathetic to. We will make every effort to ensure your child doesn’t miss out. All of our programmes offer a 10% discount for each additional sibling registered on our programmes and an instalment system allows you to make payments either monthly or termly. Unfortunately we cannot offer a weekly payment plan as the programmes we offer are progressive and require the player to attend each week. However, please contact us to discuss your personal circumstances and we will see what we can do.
Q: OK, that’s great. How do I sign-up my child/ren for a FREE taster session at one of your venues?
Before you commit to signing-up your child/ren, they are eligible to attend a free taster session. This gives both the child and the coaches an opportunity to meet each other and for the child to familiarise themselves with their surroundings. If you would like to arrange this, simply contact us either by phone or email and we’ll do the rest! If your child/ren would like to register from this point on, all we need is a registration form to be completed and the balance payable for that term to be made and away we go!
